Best Performance

Minnows Albania managed to qualify for only their second major tournament in their history in style by topping their qualification group consisting of Czechia and Poland, but they managed to progress with just one defeat and with an almost perfect home record, with the only side able to take a point away from them being the Faroe Islands. Eight years ago in EURO 2016, in their first ever appearance at a major tournament, Albania finished third in their group behind hosts France and Switzerland but did manage to win once, against Romania, to secure the first win. It may be a tougher ask this time around to repeat the feat, having been pipped with three giants of European football, but they are likely to relish their underdog status.

Player to Watch

Armando Broja

At the age of 22, Broja has a very bright future ahead of him, and though he hasn’t had many chances since signing for Chelsea four seasons ago, he has had loan spells at Vitesse, Southampton and Fulham to showcase his talents. There aren’t too many household names in this squad, but Broja has been around English football for years now, and the striker is proven at Premier League level.
