Best Performance
After a slightly erratic few years, Denmark appear to be back to their best as they secured qualification for their fourth successive major tournament by topping their qualification group. It ended up being one of the closest qualifying groups, and they topped it on goal difference ahead of Slovenia, who they face again in the group stages in Germany. Only four points separated them with third and fourth place too. Champions of Europe in 1992, Denmark have rarely threatened to repeat this feat until the last Euros when they went on a terrific run to the semi finals, only to be edged out by England in an extra time defeat at Wembley thanks to a contentious penalty. They face England in the group stages again where they will be looking for revenge.
Player to Watch

Rasmus Hojlund
Rasmus Hojlund, still only 21 years old, has looked really dangerous when he has played for Manchester United, but injuries have somewhat hampered his progress this year, and despite that, he became the second youngest player ever to score in five successive Premier League matches this season. Nonetheless, those injuries came at the start of the season, and having finished top scorer for Denmark in qualifying, a lot of the goal scoring load will be resting on his shoulders in this tournament.
