Ghana have qualified for their fifth tournament in six attempts, and they managed to do so without too much issue. They topped Group I in qualifying by winning eight of their ten games, and finished a full six points ahead of second placed Madagascar. Few would have expected such a turnaround considering they failed to even qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, where they failed to win a single game on their way to bottom place of Group F, and it was the first time since 2004 that the four time champions failed to make it. They have been dumped out of the group stages in their last two World Cup campaigns as well as the previous two African Cup of Nations that they qualified for, and form is certainly not on their side.

Player to Watch
Antoine Semenyo
Antoine Semenyo

Semenyo was already on most people’s radar during this impressive spell with Bournemouth, but since moving to Manchester City earlier this year in the January transfer window, Semenyo has been an absolute revelation. He helped push City to a title race with Arsenal for the second half of the Premier League season, and picked up his first piece of silverware with the club after only a few months by helping them lift the EFL Cup. Ghana don't have a lot of world beaters in their squad, but he will be one to watch in this Ghana side.
