Jordan are one of five nations to make their debut at the World Cup this summer, and they didnt even need the play-offs to do so. They finished second behind the Korea Republic in Stage 3 Group B with a game to spare, and it marks a stark improvement on four years ago when they didnt even get through Round 2 in Asian qualifying. Their recent improvements are evident though; Jordan actually made the final of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup where they lost to Qatar in the final. Last year in the FIFA Arab Cup too, Jordan went all the way to the final before they lost against Morocco in extra time in the final. With little to lose, Jordan will be able to showcase their improved prowess on the world stage.

Player to Watch
Musa Al Taamari
Musa Al Taamari

The 28 year old captain of the Jordan national side is one of few players to be plying their trade in a major European league. Taamari is a frequent starter and integral part of the Stade Rennes squad in France Ligue 1, ending the season as the player for the most assists for his club. Coupled with Ali Olwan, who netting 9 goals in qualifying himself, they have a really strong front line that is sure to cause problems for any opposition.
