Best Performance

Switzerland fans wouldn’t have expected to top their group half way through the qualification campaign, but thanks to Italy dropping points in four of their last five games, they pipped the Italians on the last day of qualifying. They have qualified for their fifth consecutive tournament, and twelfth in history, as they look to better their achievement of reaching the Round of 16 in four of the last tournaments they’ve been in, with the other being a group stage elimination. They made it to the quarter finals of the European Championships, defeating world champions France in the Round of 16 stage on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw, before being knocked out by Spain, also on penalty kicks. After losing their opening 3 games in the Nations League in the summer, they bounced back with a win against Portugal to put some points on the board.
