Germany qualified as hosts of the 2024 European Championships so its been two years since their last competitive match, which ended in disappointment as they failed to make it out of the group stages in the World Cup in Qatar; the second successive time they’ve been dumped out at this stage. Between those tournaments, they were knocked out by England in the Round-of-16 in EURO 2020, and after parting ways with manager Hansi Flick in September 2023, Julian Nagelsmann has the unenviable task of taking this nation in transition to the next level, though at least it is on home turf. Wins in recent friendlies against Netherlands and France may have done wonders towards their confidence, the three-time European Champions and four-time world champions who have appeared at every major tournament since 1970 will need to be on point if they are to lift this trophy for the first time since 1996.

Jamal Musiala
Bayern may have failed to lift any trophies this season, but Musiala is certainly one of the rising stars for both club and country, and at a time when the aging national team are undergoing massive changes, the 21 year old is sure to be one of those who will be leading this side’s attacking threat for many years to come.
